in that with inflation if you have debt and that funds your asset purchases then:

I can't speak personally for him but in my opinion, it certainly has suited him 

1. Inflation pushes the asset prices higher
2. inflation does not increase his debt levels unless he is not paying his interest
3. if his interest rates are fixed and increasing inflation forces up market interest rates then he is protected as long as his cash flow from the assets is not affected business Wise.

So another word borrowers like inflation if their interest rates are fixed. Donald Trump is a borrower for his properties over the years since the early 1980s which had inflation.. and so he probably would like inflation on a personal wealth basis.
